00:00:00 --> 00:00:03
			As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

00:00:04 --> 00:00:06
			My voice is a bit low, is that

00:00:06 --> 00:00:07
			okay?

00:00:08 --> 00:00:09
			Can you hear me well?

00:00:10 --> 00:00:13
			Allah, how beautiful and wonderful, this wonderful, wonderful

00:00:13 --> 00:00:14
			audience.

00:00:14 --> 00:00:16
			Mashallah, I see a lot of young people,

00:00:16 --> 00:00:16
			am I right?

00:00:18 --> 00:00:19
			Young people, mashallah.

00:00:20 --> 00:00:22
			May Allah subhana wa ta'ala bless you.

00:00:25 --> 00:00:27
			Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim, alhamdulillah.

00:00:27 --> 00:00:30
			Was-salatu was-salamu ala rasulillah.

00:00:31 --> 00:00:34
			As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

00:00:35 --> 00:00:42
			My brothers and sisters, my topic today can

00:00:42 --> 00:00:44
			be a little bit sensitive and it might

00:00:44 --> 00:00:45
			trigger some people.

00:00:47 --> 00:00:50
			The topic is about parents and children and

00:00:50 --> 00:00:51
			our relationship together.

00:00:53 --> 00:00:54
			And in this talk I'm going to talk

00:00:54 --> 00:00:58
			a little bit about the parents and then

00:00:58 --> 00:01:01
			about the children, mostly the teenagers.

00:01:02 --> 00:01:05
			And we're going to talk about some of

00:01:05 --> 00:01:06
			the rights between each other.

00:01:07 --> 00:01:14
			And when is it okay to, or what

00:01:14 --> 00:01:16
			are the boundaries between us?

00:01:17 --> 00:01:19
			What does it mean to obey our parents

00:01:19 --> 00:01:21
			and to follow them and to listen to

00:01:21 --> 00:01:21
			them?

00:01:22 --> 00:01:27
			And what does it mean that the parents

00:01:28 --> 00:01:35
			you know, rights towards their children mean and

00:01:35 --> 00:01:36
			are there any boundaries?

00:01:37 --> 00:01:38
			How do we connect together?

00:01:40 --> 00:01:42
			So let's inshallah delve into it.

00:01:42 --> 00:01:43
			I've only got 30 minutes.

00:01:44 --> 00:01:46
			I hope inshallah we learn something.

00:01:49 --> 00:01:52
			My brothers and sisters, when you change the

00:01:52 --> 00:01:56
			way you look at something, the thing that

00:01:56 --> 00:01:58
			you're looking at changes.

00:02:00 --> 00:02:01
			When you change the way you look at

00:02:01 --> 00:02:06
			something, the way that something looks changes.

00:02:07 --> 00:02:08
			So let us inshallah look at things from

00:02:08 --> 00:02:11
			a different angle and you'll see many doors

00:02:11 --> 00:02:12
			open up for you inshallah.

00:02:14 --> 00:02:16
			Let us begin first of all with what

00:02:16 --> 00:02:19
			Allah tells us about our parents and then

00:02:19 --> 00:02:21
			I'll talk about what Allah tells us about

00:02:21 --> 00:02:22
			our children.

00:02:22 --> 00:02:24
			I think you'll like it.

00:02:25 --> 00:02:28
			Allah says in the Quran the famous verse

00:02:28 --> 00:02:28
			which all of us know.

00:02:54 --> 00:03:02
			Quran Quran Quran Quran Quran Quran

00:03:02 --> 00:03:17
			Quran

00:03:31 --> 00:03:40
			Quran Quran Allah

00:03:40 --> 00:03:43
			says in Surah Al-Isra, Surah number 17

00:03:43 --> 00:03:45
			verse 23.

00:03:46 --> 00:03:49
			Your lord has decreed, do not worship any

00:03:49 --> 00:03:50
			but him.

00:03:51 --> 00:03:55
			Be good to your parents and should both

00:03:55 --> 00:03:57
			or any of them attain old age with

00:03:57 --> 00:03:57
			you.

00:03:57 --> 00:04:01
			Do not stay, do not say to them

00:04:01 --> 00:04:08
			even the word of neither speak to them

00:04:08 --> 00:04:13
			rudely but speak to them with respect and

00:04:13 --> 00:04:17
			be humble and tender towards them and say

00:04:18 --> 00:04:21
			Lord show mercy to them as they nurtured

00:04:21 --> 00:04:24
			me when I was a small child.

00:04:25 --> 00:04:28
			So the first thing we understand my brothers

00:04:28 --> 00:04:31
			and sisters is to remember why Allah has

00:04:31 --> 00:04:34
			put so much emphasis on the niceness and

00:04:34 --> 00:04:36
			kindness and respect to our parents.

00:04:37 --> 00:04:39
			I think you already saw in this verse

00:04:39 --> 00:04:39
			what it means.

00:04:40 --> 00:04:42
			Oh Allah give them mercy as they raised

00:04:42 --> 00:04:43
			me when I was a little child.

00:04:44 --> 00:04:47
			When you were a baby and your mother

00:04:47 --> 00:04:50
			carried you for nine months, the pain and

00:04:50 --> 00:04:52
			the agony that she went through, agony upon

00:04:52 --> 00:04:55
			agony is one for your life.

00:04:55 --> 00:04:57
			The second one is when she went into

00:04:57 --> 00:05:02
			labor, agony upon agony and pain twice and

00:05:02 --> 00:05:04
			then she had to breastfeed you and heal

00:05:04 --> 00:05:08
			from her labor and some mothers would have

00:05:08 --> 00:05:10
			breastfed their children for two whole years.

00:05:10 --> 00:05:14
			Her nourishment and everything about herself, it was

00:05:14 --> 00:05:15
			all about you.

00:05:15 --> 00:05:18
			When you were a baby that time, you

00:05:18 --> 00:05:21
			had no strength, you were only weak and

00:05:21 --> 00:05:24
			your parents showed you mercy and they would

00:05:24 --> 00:05:26
			rather give their life for you instead of

00:05:26 --> 00:05:27
			their own.

00:05:28 --> 00:05:31
			And your father was there for you to

00:05:31 --> 00:05:34
			make sure that you are protected and secure

00:05:34 --> 00:05:37
			until you grew so that you can become

00:05:37 --> 00:05:38
			slightly independent.

00:05:38 --> 00:05:40
			Then as a child you were still dependent

00:05:40 --> 00:05:43
			on your children, on your parents until you

00:05:43 --> 00:05:45
			became a teenager and then suddenly the strength

00:05:45 --> 00:05:48
			comes in, your mind comes in, your independence

00:05:48 --> 00:05:50
			comes in and now you want to be

00:05:50 --> 00:05:51
			your own person.

00:05:52 --> 00:05:55
			But with that comes the respect and the

00:05:55 --> 00:05:57
			kindness to our parents until our death.

00:05:57 --> 00:05:59
			Their right is so much that even after

00:05:59 --> 00:06:03
			their death, after their death, we still owe

00:06:03 --> 00:06:03
			them five rights.

00:06:04 --> 00:06:06
			Number one, to make dua for them.

00:06:07 --> 00:06:09
			Number two, to ask Allah to forgive them.

00:06:09 --> 00:06:12
			Number three, to connect the family ties that

00:06:12 --> 00:06:14
			are connected because of them like your uncles,

00:06:14 --> 00:06:15
			your aunts.

00:06:15 --> 00:06:18
			Number four, to carry out the bequest.

00:06:18 --> 00:06:19
			If they left the bequest behind to do

00:06:19 --> 00:06:22
			something, you carry out what we call their

00:06:22 --> 00:06:22
			bequest.

00:06:23 --> 00:06:27
			And fifth is to be considerate to the

00:06:27 --> 00:06:29
			friends that they used to have.

00:06:30 --> 00:06:31
			These are the general rights.

00:06:32 --> 00:06:33
			And at the same time, brothers and sisters,

00:06:33 --> 00:06:35
			I don't want you to mix up between

00:06:35 --> 00:06:40
			obeying your parents in everything and allowing the

00:06:40 --> 00:06:42
			right of your parents to control everything in

00:06:42 --> 00:06:45
			your life and between being kind, respectful and

00:06:45 --> 00:06:46
			dutiful to them.

00:06:47 --> 00:06:49
			Allah subhana wa ta'ala He mentions be

00:06:49 --> 00:06:52
			kind and respectful to them and serve them

00:06:52 --> 00:06:54
			and be there for them for all their

00:06:54 --> 00:06:54
			needs.

00:06:55 --> 00:06:58
			But of course Allah subhana wa ta'ala,

00:06:58 --> 00:07:00
			He put boundaries to that too.

00:07:00 --> 00:07:03
			You have your rights and they have their

00:07:03 --> 00:07:03
			rights.

00:07:03 --> 00:07:06
			It is a big test to raise children

00:07:06 --> 00:07:09
			and it is a huge test to also

00:07:09 --> 00:07:10
			look after your parents.

00:07:10 --> 00:07:12
			Parents are a test for their children and

00:07:12 --> 00:07:15
			children are a test for their parents.

00:07:15 --> 00:07:19
			My dear brothers and sisters, Allah subhana wa

00:07:19 --> 00:07:20
			ta'ala then tells us in another verse,

00:08:07 --> 00:08:25
			Allah subhana wa ta'ala Surah

00:08:25 --> 00:08:42
			number 31 verse 14, Allah says, to

00:08:42 --> 00:08:43
			me is your ultimate return.

00:08:44 --> 00:08:47
			But if they press you and pressure you

00:08:47 --> 00:08:50
			and try to force you to associate partners

00:08:50 --> 00:08:56
			with Allah, then do not obey them and

00:08:56 --> 00:09:00
			yet treat them well in this world and

00:09:00 --> 00:09:03
			follow the way of him to turn to

00:09:03 --> 00:09:04
			me in devotion.

00:09:05 --> 00:09:07
			Eventually it is to me that all of

00:09:07 --> 00:09:09
			you shall return and I shall then tell

00:09:09 --> 00:09:11
			you all that you did.

00:09:13 --> 00:09:17
			Some young people say to me, my parents

00:09:17 --> 00:09:21
			mistreat me do I continue to show them

00:09:21 --> 00:09:21
			that kindness?

00:09:22 --> 00:09:22
			They don't deserve it.

00:09:23 --> 00:09:26
			Some young people say it not knowing what

00:09:26 --> 00:09:27
			they're saying really.

00:09:27 --> 00:09:29
			They're saying they don't deserve it maybe from

00:09:29 --> 00:09:30
			their perspective.

00:09:31 --> 00:09:33
			So for example some young people might say

00:09:34 --> 00:09:37
			well if my parents go along this way

00:09:37 --> 00:09:38
			that means I'm happy with them.

00:09:39 --> 00:09:40
			But if they don't go along that way,

00:09:40 --> 00:09:42
			for example you want something and it doesn't

00:09:42 --> 00:09:45
			go your way, then suddenly we might think

00:09:45 --> 00:09:46
			that our parents are bad to us.

00:09:47 --> 00:09:50
			So please be careful and analyze and think

00:09:50 --> 00:09:53
			are they really being bad to you or

00:09:53 --> 00:09:56
			are you just being a person who is

00:09:56 --> 00:09:58
			thinking more about your needs and forgetting their

00:09:58 --> 00:09:58
			needs.

00:09:59 --> 00:10:01
			Number two, there are parents who are truly

00:10:01 --> 00:10:04
			oppressive and they are horrible to their children.

00:10:04 --> 00:10:06
			They exist and we hear about them night

00:10:06 --> 00:10:06
			and day.

00:10:06 --> 00:10:09
			Some of them use this verse like a

00:10:09 --> 00:10:11
			guillotine and a sword on their children.

00:10:11 --> 00:10:13
			As if to say that I own you

00:10:13 --> 00:10:15
			and everything about you and I get to

00:10:15 --> 00:10:16
			control everything about you.

00:10:17 --> 00:10:19
			Some of them use dua and say if

00:10:19 --> 00:10:21
			you don't do this or if that happens

00:10:21 --> 00:10:23
			and I'm not happy with you I beseech

00:10:23 --> 00:10:24
			Allah to be angry with you till the

00:10:24 --> 00:10:25
			end of time.

00:10:25 --> 00:10:26
			Some of them use that as a weapon.

00:10:27 --> 00:10:29
			And some of them do go further into

00:10:29 --> 00:10:31
			even more horrendous situations.

00:10:31 --> 00:10:33
			But they are my dear brothers and sisters

00:10:33 --> 00:10:34
			the exceptions.

00:10:34 --> 00:10:39
			The normal norm of parents is that Allah

00:10:39 --> 00:10:42
			tells us even if you disagree with them

00:10:42 --> 00:10:44
			even if they tell you to do something

00:10:44 --> 00:10:48
			that's harsh and hard, even if sometimes you

00:10:48 --> 00:10:50
			don't have to obey them here's the thing,

00:10:51 --> 00:10:55
			you always have to be respectful to them.

00:10:56 --> 00:10:57
			Like no matter what.

00:10:57 --> 00:10:59
			Some say well they're not respectful to me.

00:10:59 --> 00:11:01
			I say your parents have a special place.

00:11:02 --> 00:11:04
			Even if they are disrespectful to their own

00:11:04 --> 00:11:06
			children you don't do the same.

00:11:07 --> 00:11:08
			You need to break that cycle.

00:11:09 --> 00:11:10
			And not be that same person.

00:11:10 --> 00:11:12
			Because one day when you have children and

00:11:12 --> 00:11:14
			they watch you the way that you treat

00:11:14 --> 00:11:16
			your parents, they're going to treat you the

00:11:16 --> 00:11:18
			same way you treated their grandparents.

00:11:19 --> 00:11:20
			Mark my words.

00:11:20 --> 00:11:22
			You need to break that cycle and know

00:11:22 --> 00:11:25
			that Allah has given both your parents and

00:11:25 --> 00:11:27
			you a guidance and a path.

00:11:28 --> 00:11:29
			And look at this verse what it's saying

00:11:29 --> 00:11:31
			Allah is saying to you, all of you

00:11:31 --> 00:11:32
			are going to return to me.

00:11:32 --> 00:11:34
			And Allah is saying I am going to

00:11:34 --> 00:11:36
			question both your parents and I'm going to

00:11:36 --> 00:11:37
			question the children.

00:11:38 --> 00:11:38
			Each one.

00:11:38 --> 00:11:41
			Did you fulfill the duty and did you

00:11:41 --> 00:11:43
			look after the trust which I gave you?

00:11:44 --> 00:11:46
			Oh parents, did you look after those children

00:11:46 --> 00:11:50
			that I gave you temporarily they're mine.

00:11:50 --> 00:11:51
			Allah is saying they're mine.

00:11:51 --> 00:11:52
			You don't own them.

00:11:52 --> 00:11:54
			I gave them to you as a trust.

00:11:55 --> 00:11:56
			As a gift.

00:11:56 --> 00:11:58
			And I gave you authority over them to

00:11:58 --> 00:11:59
			a certain degree.

00:12:00 --> 00:12:00
			For a purpose.

00:12:01 --> 00:12:03
			To raise them to look after them.

00:12:03 --> 00:12:04
			To teach them.

00:12:04 --> 00:12:05
			To educate them.

00:12:05 --> 00:12:06
			To teach them about Allah.

00:12:06 --> 00:12:08
			To leave a beautiful generation behind.

00:12:08 --> 00:12:10
			And if you do so I will make

00:12:10 --> 00:12:11
			them an intercessor for you on the day

00:12:11 --> 00:12:13
			of judgment and because of them you will

00:12:13 --> 00:12:13
			enter paradise.

00:12:14 --> 00:12:16
			Or did you not fulfill that trust?

00:12:16 --> 00:12:17
			Did you break it?

00:12:17 --> 00:12:19
			Did you make did you abuse your rights?

00:12:19 --> 00:12:20
			Did you use the verses of the Quran?

00:12:21 --> 00:12:22
			Same with the children.

00:12:22 --> 00:12:24
			How did you treat your parents?

00:12:24 --> 00:12:25
			Allah is going to say I made them

00:12:25 --> 00:12:27
			get weaker and older and you saw that

00:12:27 --> 00:12:28
			before your eyes.

00:12:28 --> 00:12:29
			They got sick.

00:12:29 --> 00:12:30
			They got older.

00:12:30 --> 00:12:30
			They got feeble.

00:12:31 --> 00:12:31
			You got stronger.

00:12:32 --> 00:12:33
			You became more independent.

00:12:33 --> 00:12:35
			And what did you do with that strength?

00:12:35 --> 00:12:36
			Did you abuse it?

00:12:36 --> 00:12:37
			Did you mistreat them?

00:12:38 --> 00:12:41
			Or did you fulfill how I commanded you?

00:12:41 --> 00:12:42
			Don't you think brothers and sisters that Allah

00:12:42 --> 00:12:45
			doesn't know that there are families who go

00:12:45 --> 00:12:47
			through struggles and that there are harsh parents

00:12:47 --> 00:12:49
			and harsh children and all of that.

00:12:49 --> 00:12:54
			Yet Allah still says to you In this

00:12:54 --> 00:12:57
			verse here it's talking about disbelieving parents.

00:12:57 --> 00:12:59
			And not only disbelieving parents.

00:12:59 --> 00:13:02
			It's talking about Kafir parents who are forcing

00:13:02 --> 00:13:04
			their children to worship idols.

00:13:04 --> 00:13:06
			Forcing their children to swear at God.

00:13:07 --> 00:13:08
			To swear at the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi

00:13:08 --> 00:13:08
			Wasallam.

00:13:08 --> 00:13:10
			To disbelieve in the Quran.

00:13:10 --> 00:13:11
			To talk harshly about Islam.

00:13:11 --> 00:13:12
			These are the types of parents Allah is

00:13:12 --> 00:13:13
			talking about.

00:13:13 --> 00:13:14
			This is abuse.

00:13:14 --> 00:13:17
			Yet Allah is saying just don't listen to

00:13:17 --> 00:13:17
			them.

00:13:18 --> 00:13:19
			Don't obey them.

00:13:19 --> 00:13:20
			Don't go down that road.

00:13:21 --> 00:13:24
			But the way you oppose them, you need

00:13:24 --> 00:13:26
			to find a way to oppose them without

00:13:26 --> 00:13:27
			crossing your boundaries.

00:13:28 --> 00:13:30
			Oppose them respectfully.

00:13:30 --> 00:13:32
			You know brothers and sisters something that I

00:13:32 --> 00:13:35
			find among, because I've been a teacher for

00:13:35 --> 00:13:37
			a while and I find among teenagers, my

00:13:37 --> 00:13:40
			students, something that we need to teach more

00:13:40 --> 00:13:40
			often.

00:13:40 --> 00:13:41
			And I hope inshallah some of you here

00:13:41 --> 00:13:43
			can do courses like that or among you

00:13:43 --> 00:13:46
			who are teachers to teach communication skills.

00:13:46 --> 00:13:49
			Communication, management and organizational skills.

00:13:49 --> 00:13:51
			To be able to look past just myself

00:13:51 --> 00:13:53
			and to put myself in someone else's shoes

00:13:53 --> 00:13:55
			and be able to communicate in a way

00:13:55 --> 00:13:56
			that I can get to them.

00:13:56 --> 00:13:57
			I have this formula.

00:13:58 --> 00:14:04
			It's called A-A-T, no, A-A

00:14:04 --> 00:14:06
			-T-T A-A-T-T.

00:14:07 --> 00:14:08
			And it'll work in anything you do.

00:14:08 --> 00:14:09
			Or I'm just going to give you this

00:14:09 --> 00:14:09
			for free.

00:14:09 --> 00:14:11
			You want to open up a business, you

00:14:11 --> 00:14:12
			want to deal with customs you want to

00:14:12 --> 00:14:13
			deal with your parents, with your spouse, with

00:14:13 --> 00:14:14
			your children.

00:14:14 --> 00:14:16
			Always use it this way.

00:14:16 --> 00:14:19
			If there's something that someone's complaining about or

00:14:19 --> 00:14:23
			opposing you about or showing harshness about it,

00:14:24 --> 00:14:25
			number one, listen.

00:14:26 --> 00:14:32
			Then number one, acknowledge I understand what you're

00:14:32 --> 00:14:37
			going through and I can see that you're

00:14:37 --> 00:14:37
			frustrated.

00:14:38 --> 00:14:41
			Number two, I call it A-A, I'll

00:14:41 --> 00:14:41
			call it A-V.

00:14:42 --> 00:14:46
			So validate, validate A-V, validate.

00:14:46 --> 00:14:48
			Say, and I can only imagine how hard

00:14:48 --> 00:14:49
			it feels.

00:14:49 --> 00:14:52
			Mom, dad, I understand and it must be

00:14:52 --> 00:14:53
			really hard if I was in your shoes.

00:14:54 --> 00:14:55
			Or a parent says it to a child,

00:14:55 --> 00:14:58
			say, you know Habibti, I understand, to a

00:14:58 --> 00:15:01
			daughter, I understand what you're going through and

00:15:01 --> 00:15:02
			it must feel really hard.

00:15:03 --> 00:15:06
			Then, talk tell them the advice.

00:15:06 --> 00:15:07
			And then when you tell them the advice,

00:15:08 --> 00:15:09
			in the end thank them.

00:15:09 --> 00:15:10
			Thank them for listening.

00:15:12 --> 00:15:13
			And always thank them to give you feedback.

00:15:14 --> 00:15:16
			Brothers and sisters, wallahi, Rasul s.a.w.

00:15:16 --> 00:15:17
			taught us a way of how to communicate

00:15:17 --> 00:15:19
			and you can really reach a person's heart

00:15:19 --> 00:15:21
			if you can master that.

00:15:22 --> 00:15:22
			Anybody.

00:15:22 --> 00:15:24
			There's a book called How to Make Friends

00:15:24 --> 00:15:25
			and Influence People.

00:15:26 --> 00:15:28
			It teaches you how to win a person's

00:15:28 --> 00:15:28
			heart.

00:15:28 --> 00:15:29
			And subhanallah, when I read it, written by

00:15:29 --> 00:15:33
			a non-Muslim, it kind of agrees with

00:15:33 --> 00:15:34
			a lot of the sunnah and seerah of

00:15:34 --> 00:15:36
			the Prophet s.a.w. The way the

00:15:36 --> 00:15:37
			Prophet peace be upon him, used to approach

00:15:37 --> 00:15:38
			people.

00:15:39 --> 00:15:41
			So there is a way to oppose people

00:15:41 --> 00:15:43
			by still respecting them.

00:15:45 --> 00:15:51
			My brothers and sisters I've heard young people

00:15:51 --> 00:15:56
			say if my dad spends on me, it's

00:15:56 --> 00:15:57
			his duty.

00:15:57 --> 00:15:59
			My mom spends on me, it's her duty.

00:16:00 --> 00:16:01
			Okay, what do you mean it's their duty?

00:16:02 --> 00:16:03
			It means they brought me into this world,

00:16:04 --> 00:16:06
			they gotta feed me, I owe them nothing.

00:16:07 --> 00:16:08
			I didn't ask them to bring me into

00:16:08 --> 00:16:08
			this world.

00:16:10 --> 00:16:11
			Subhanallah.

00:16:11 --> 00:16:13
			They forget that it is Allah who brought

00:16:13 --> 00:16:14
			him into this world.

00:16:15 --> 00:16:18
			They forget that it is not up to

00:16:18 --> 00:16:19
			us who's going to be born and who's

00:16:19 --> 00:16:19
			not.

00:16:20 --> 00:16:22
			Some of us, we can't even have children.

00:16:24 --> 00:16:26
			And they forget that they're going to be

00:16:26 --> 00:16:28
			questioned by Allah and this is a test

00:16:28 --> 00:16:28
			for them.

00:16:28 --> 00:16:29
			Your parents are a test.

00:16:30 --> 00:16:31
			And they forget that one day they're going

00:16:31 --> 00:16:32
			to get married, they're not going to have

00:16:32 --> 00:16:34
			kids inshallah, and their kids are going to

00:16:34 --> 00:16:35
			do the same to them.

00:16:35 --> 00:16:39
			And they forget that their misery and their

00:16:39 --> 00:16:42
			sadness and their issues in life is because

00:16:42 --> 00:16:45
			they're distant from their parents and it's very

00:16:45 --> 00:16:45
			selfish.

00:16:46 --> 00:16:47
			What do you mean it's your duty?

00:16:48 --> 00:16:51
			So a parent, yes it's their duty, but

00:16:51 --> 00:16:52
			who's going to stop them if they don't

00:16:52 --> 00:16:53
			spend on you?

00:16:54 --> 00:16:55
			They listen to Allah.

00:16:55 --> 00:16:57
			The fact that they are obeying Allah, the

00:16:57 --> 00:16:58
			fact that they are doing it out of

00:16:58 --> 00:17:00
			love, the fact that they acknowledge that you

00:17:00 --> 00:17:03
			are their child, that requires a reciprocation.

00:17:04 --> 00:17:06
			They also have rights on us.

00:17:07 --> 00:17:09
			So please don't speak to your parents that

00:17:09 --> 00:17:13
			way because the circle will happen again to

00:17:13 --> 00:17:13
			you.

00:17:14 --> 00:17:18
			My brothers and sisters, my advice as well

00:17:18 --> 00:17:22
			to parents in dealing with your teenage children,

00:17:23 --> 00:17:26
			please understand that they're still learning.

00:17:27 --> 00:17:28
			Have mercy on them.

00:17:29 --> 00:17:31
			Be compassionate towards them and what I mean

00:17:31 --> 00:17:34
			by that is not by giving them everything

00:17:34 --> 00:17:35
			they want, no.

00:17:36 --> 00:17:39
			Being compassionate to them is the following.

00:17:40 --> 00:17:42
			Do these seven things in your life and

00:17:42 --> 00:17:44
			make them a habit with your teenage kids,

00:17:44 --> 00:17:46
			especially if they pass that and they become

00:17:46 --> 00:17:47
			adults forever.

00:17:48 --> 00:17:50
			Number one, try to be a listener.

00:17:51 --> 00:17:55
			Parents, listen to your child without judgment.

00:17:56 --> 00:17:59
			For example, some children, some teenagers, they may

00:17:59 --> 00:18:01
			have gone up to no good and suddenly

00:18:01 --> 00:18:04
			you'll find that they lock themselves up in

00:18:04 --> 00:18:04
			their room.

00:18:04 --> 00:18:06
			One minute they've been out talking to family

00:18:06 --> 00:18:08
			and the next minute they just change.

00:18:08 --> 00:18:10
			They isolate themselves, they go into the room,

00:18:10 --> 00:18:12
			they close the door and suddenly you think

00:18:12 --> 00:18:14
			something's going on, right?

00:18:15 --> 00:18:17
			A parent has to understand that they are

00:18:17 --> 00:18:19
			now going into the world and they're starting

00:18:19 --> 00:18:20
			to become adults themselves.

00:18:20 --> 00:18:22
			So obviously they're going to fall into some

00:18:22 --> 00:18:24
			problems but if they're not able to come

00:18:24 --> 00:18:27
			to you as a parent, then you've got

00:18:27 --> 00:18:29
			to re-evaluate how your relationship is with

00:18:29 --> 00:18:29
			them.

00:18:30 --> 00:18:32
			The most successful parents I have come across

00:18:32 --> 00:18:34
			in my life are the ones who their

00:18:34 --> 00:18:37
			children can come to talk to them about

00:18:37 --> 00:18:38
			any problem.

00:18:40 --> 00:18:43
			So once they do that, tell them, look

00:18:43 --> 00:18:46
			son, daughter, I'm here to listen and wallahi

00:18:46 --> 00:18:47
			I will not judge you.

00:18:48 --> 00:18:49
			Now parents might, some of them might get

00:18:49 --> 00:18:51
			an anxiety attack and say, oh my god,

00:18:51 --> 00:18:52
			I don't know what's going on and if

00:18:52 --> 00:18:53
			they tell me they're going to lose the

00:18:53 --> 00:18:56
			plot, I say to you, listen, it is

00:18:56 --> 00:18:58
			better for them to tell you about the

00:18:58 --> 00:19:01
			problem now before it advances and gets even

00:19:01 --> 00:19:04
			bigger later on when it's not going to

00:19:04 --> 00:19:05
			be able to be dealt with.

00:19:06 --> 00:19:07
			Let them talk to you now.

00:19:08 --> 00:19:10
			Some, there's a parent of mine who gave

00:19:10 --> 00:19:12
			me this idea, a parent that I spoke

00:19:12 --> 00:19:13
			to, he says he's got a daughter who's

00:19:13 --> 00:19:17
			about 11, 12 years old and whenever he,

00:19:17 --> 00:19:20
			he agreed with his daughter saying, listen, if

00:19:20 --> 00:19:22
			there's anything sensitive we're going to talk about,

00:19:22 --> 00:19:23
			we need a word between us.

00:19:24 --> 00:19:26
			And then she goes, what's the word?

00:19:26 --> 00:19:28
			He goes, let's say for example, balloon.

00:19:29 --> 00:19:32
			Balloon means we're in this vacuum and we're

00:19:32 --> 00:19:33
			protected.

00:19:33 --> 00:19:35
			So that means we can talk about anything

00:19:35 --> 00:19:36
			without any judgement.

00:19:36 --> 00:19:39
			And that worked tremendously because that child now

00:19:39 --> 00:19:40
			grew up to know that there is a

00:19:40 --> 00:19:43
			safety net, that they can talk to their

00:19:43 --> 00:19:45
			parent without being judged and so they can

00:19:45 --> 00:19:46
			work on solutions inshallah.

00:19:47 --> 00:19:50
			Number two, show your teenager's interest and your

00:19:50 --> 00:19:54
			adult children, especially as they're growing up, maybe

00:19:54 --> 00:19:56
			9, 10, 11 years old show them how

00:19:56 --> 00:19:59
			you are also interested in their hobbies.

00:20:00 --> 00:20:01
			Don't belittle their hobbies.

00:20:01 --> 00:20:03
			They're allowed to have games and hobbies and

00:20:03 --> 00:20:04
			share it even if you don't enjoy it.

00:20:05 --> 00:20:08
			Number three, talk about their feelings and your

00:20:08 --> 00:20:09
			feelings.

00:20:09 --> 00:20:12
			Parents can talk about their vulnerabilities and talk

00:20:12 --> 00:20:14
			about on a deeper level rather than just

00:20:15 --> 00:20:20
			rules, instructions, consequences, school and when they come

00:20:20 --> 00:20:21
			home, it's another school.

00:20:22 --> 00:20:23
			Homes these days are two types.

00:20:24 --> 00:20:27
			They're either totally neglectful or totally military.

00:20:28 --> 00:20:29
			Another school.

00:20:29 --> 00:20:30
			They come back home, another school.

00:20:30 --> 00:20:31
			Or they go to school, come back and

00:20:31 --> 00:20:32
			it's neglectful.

00:20:32 --> 00:20:35
			On their iPads, on their audio-visuals, all

00:20:35 --> 00:20:36
			night no care.

00:20:36 --> 00:20:37
			You've got to strike a balance.

00:20:38 --> 00:20:41
			So what happens here is talk on a

00:20:41 --> 00:20:41
			personal level.

00:20:42 --> 00:20:44
			Walk together and talk on personal levels.

00:20:44 --> 00:20:46
			And be vulnerable a little bit, oh parents.

00:20:46 --> 00:20:48
			And you watch your children and start opening

00:20:48 --> 00:20:48
			up, Inshallah.

00:20:49 --> 00:20:53
			Number four, acknowledge, validate, tell and then thank.

00:20:53 --> 00:20:55
			Acknowledge your children's feelings.

00:20:56 --> 00:20:57
			Validate them.

00:20:57 --> 00:21:00
			Start like this, say, I see that this

00:21:00 --> 00:21:00
			is upsetting you.

00:21:01 --> 00:21:04
			Number two, I can understand how it's hurting

00:21:04 --> 00:21:04
			you.

00:21:05 --> 00:21:06
			The pain is, you know, if I was

00:21:06 --> 00:21:07
			in your place, I'd feel the same way.

00:21:08 --> 00:21:11
			And you know, say, look, I understand, you

00:21:11 --> 00:21:12
			know, Baba, I understand.

00:21:12 --> 00:21:14
			And then number three, talk.

00:21:14 --> 00:21:16
			Say, can I say a few words?

00:21:16 --> 00:21:17
			I'd like to say, talk.

00:21:18 --> 00:21:18
			This is on a deep level.

00:21:19 --> 00:21:20
			Wallahi, if you have this on a weekly

00:21:20 --> 00:21:23
			basis, Inshallah, or whenever a problem happens, then

00:21:23 --> 00:21:26
			Subhanallah, your relationship with your children will only

00:21:26 --> 00:21:28
			increase and they'll become better human beings, better

00:21:28 --> 00:21:29
			Muslims, Inshallah.

00:21:30 --> 00:21:33
			Number five, give them some space as they

00:21:33 --> 00:21:34
			get older.

00:21:35 --> 00:21:36
			You know, you don't have to always hone

00:21:36 --> 00:21:38
			into them, walking onto their room.

00:21:38 --> 00:21:39
			Give them their privacy.

00:21:39 --> 00:21:40
			They have a right to their privacy.

00:21:41 --> 00:21:43
			Don't go to their phones without their permission,

00:21:43 --> 00:21:45
			for example, unless you have a really serious

00:21:45 --> 00:21:47
			concern, something that really is there.

00:21:48 --> 00:21:49
			That's a different story in order to protect

00:21:49 --> 00:21:50
			your children.

00:21:50 --> 00:21:52
			But other than that, let them feel that

00:21:52 --> 00:21:54
			they are, you know, I'll tell you something.

00:21:54 --> 00:21:56
			My brother and I, when we were about

00:21:56 --> 00:22:01
			18, 19 years old, I found out a

00:22:01 --> 00:22:02
			hack with my dad.

00:22:02 --> 00:22:04
			My dad had this curfew on us.

00:22:04 --> 00:22:06
			He said, you have to come home at

00:22:06 --> 00:22:09
			8.30pm. Now, that's pretty bad because when

00:22:09 --> 00:22:11
			you're out with your mates and it's 8

00:22:11 --> 00:22:12
			.30pm and then you go, I've got to

00:22:12 --> 00:22:13
			go home.

00:22:13 --> 00:22:15
			You're 18, 19 year old and your mates

00:22:15 --> 00:22:17
			are looking and thinking, are you alright mate?

00:22:17 --> 00:22:17
			You're still a baby?

00:22:18 --> 00:22:21
			And then, you know, it was quite, sometimes

00:22:21 --> 00:22:21
			very hard.

00:22:22 --> 00:22:23
			So my brother and I would sort of

00:22:23 --> 00:22:26
			stay a little bit longer and then the

00:22:26 --> 00:22:27
			phone call, we didn't have mobiles at that

00:22:27 --> 00:22:28
			time but that's why.

00:22:28 --> 00:22:30
			We got away with it and then the

00:22:30 --> 00:22:32
			phone calls would go to like different parents'

00:22:32 --> 00:22:33
			houses.

00:22:34 --> 00:22:35
			And then when we got home, my brother

00:22:35 --> 00:22:36
			and I would come in through the window

00:22:36 --> 00:22:39
			and we'd try and tiptoe and then every

00:22:39 --> 00:22:41
			time I remember, you know, one time came

00:22:41 --> 00:22:43
			at night and I said, you go this

00:22:43 --> 00:22:44
			way, I'll go that way.

00:22:45 --> 00:22:48
			And then in the darkness of the dark,

00:22:48 --> 00:22:49
			I hear my dad's voice.

00:22:51 --> 00:22:51
			Where were you?

00:22:53 --> 00:22:55
			And then we'd just freeze and then we'd

00:22:55 --> 00:22:56
			start blaming each other.

00:22:57 --> 00:22:58
			But my father was very good with us.

00:22:59 --> 00:23:01
			He started explaining, look, it's okay, just keep

00:23:01 --> 00:23:03
			connecting because I fear for you, you know,

00:23:03 --> 00:23:04
			as you're going out, I need to feel

00:23:04 --> 00:23:05
			that you're responsible.

00:23:05 --> 00:23:06
			So I found a hack.

00:23:07 --> 00:23:10
			Every time I'd go out, I'd find a

00:23:10 --> 00:23:12
			phone, I'd call my parents and I'd say,

00:23:12 --> 00:23:14
			I'm here, I'm with these friends, we're just

00:23:14 --> 00:23:15
			having a good time, inshallah we'll come back

00:23:15 --> 00:23:16
			at this time.

00:23:16 --> 00:23:17
			And I would stick to it exactly.

00:23:18 --> 00:23:19
			Now my brother didn't do the same thing,

00:23:19 --> 00:23:19
			right?

00:23:20 --> 00:23:22
			So then as time went on, my father

00:23:22 --> 00:23:23
			started to trust me outside because I'm the

00:23:23 --> 00:23:25
			person who will keep them sort of, you

00:23:25 --> 00:23:26
			know, knowing where we are.

00:23:27 --> 00:23:28
			And then every time I went out or

00:23:28 --> 00:23:29
			my brother wanted to go out, my dad

00:23:29 --> 00:23:31
			would say, you go out with your brother,

00:23:31 --> 00:23:32
			you're not allowed to go out unless you're

00:23:32 --> 00:23:33
			with your brother.

00:23:33 --> 00:23:35
			So the idea is that you need to,

00:23:35 --> 00:23:37
			as you get older, you got to show

00:23:37 --> 00:23:39
			your parents that they can let go a

00:23:39 --> 00:23:40
			little bit as well.

00:23:40 --> 00:23:42
			And that they can trust you.

00:23:42 --> 00:23:44
			So at the same time, parents, you let

00:23:44 --> 00:23:46
			go a little bit and let them try

00:23:46 --> 00:23:47
			the world by themselves.

00:23:47 --> 00:23:50
			Agree together with rules in the house.

00:23:51 --> 00:23:54
			And number seven, teach them what the boundaries

00:23:54 --> 00:23:55
			are under your roof.

00:23:55 --> 00:23:57
			I have a mother who once told me

00:23:57 --> 00:23:59
			that her son's taking drugs.

00:24:00 --> 00:24:01
			And every time she comes into the house,

00:24:01 --> 00:24:04
			he brings in the drugs, he's got siblings.

00:24:04 --> 00:24:05
			And I said to her, okay, what are

00:24:05 --> 00:24:06
			you doing about it?

00:24:06 --> 00:24:07
			She goes, I don't know what to do.

00:24:07 --> 00:24:09
			You know, the other day the dad wants

00:24:09 --> 00:24:10
			to call the police.

00:24:10 --> 00:24:11
			I said, alright, have you tried this?

00:24:11 --> 00:24:12
			Have you tried that?

00:24:12 --> 00:24:13
			Have you tried speaking to organizations?

00:24:13 --> 00:24:14
			Have you tried speaking to friends?

00:24:14 --> 00:24:16
			Have you tried to place the rules?

00:24:16 --> 00:24:17
			She says, we've done all of that.

00:24:18 --> 00:24:20
			And now the son's doing it openly.

00:24:21 --> 00:24:22
			I said, alright.

00:24:22 --> 00:24:24
			In the end, after everything, I said, call

00:24:24 --> 00:24:25
			the police.

00:24:26 --> 00:24:27
			I said, but I can't put my son

00:24:27 --> 00:24:28
			into this.

00:24:28 --> 00:24:30
			I said, if you don't do that, your

00:24:30 --> 00:24:33
			son is going to either lose his life

00:24:34 --> 00:24:36
			or he's going to get his siblings onto

00:24:36 --> 00:24:40
			these drugs or something worse is going to

00:24:40 --> 00:24:40
			happen.

00:24:41 --> 00:24:42
			So she did that.

00:24:43 --> 00:24:45
			He ended up in prison for a little

00:24:45 --> 00:24:47
			while, after a long time.

00:24:48 --> 00:24:49
			He came out, they gave him rehab.

00:24:49 --> 00:24:53
			We attached him to Muslim brothers in an

00:24:53 --> 00:24:53
			organization.

00:24:54 --> 00:24:54
			Alhamdulillah.

00:24:55 --> 00:24:56
			And after all that help, got married.

00:24:56 --> 00:24:58
			And he settled his life, Alhamdulillah.

00:24:59 --> 00:25:01
			Sometimes parents do have to take strict measures

00:25:01 --> 00:25:02
			under their roof and boundaries.

00:25:04 --> 00:25:05
			My brothers and sisters I've only got a

00:25:05 --> 00:25:07
			bit more time, so I want to talk

00:25:07 --> 00:25:09
			now about what does it mean to obey

00:25:09 --> 00:25:10
			your parents?

00:25:10 --> 00:25:11
			And do you have to obey them in

00:25:11 --> 00:25:12
			everything?

00:25:12 --> 00:25:14
			Islam is a religion of balance.

00:25:14 --> 00:25:17
			It does not tell you to be a

00:25:17 --> 00:25:17
			robot.

00:25:17 --> 00:25:18
			It does not tell you that you have

00:25:18 --> 00:25:19
			no rights.

00:25:19 --> 00:25:20
			So here we go.

00:25:22 --> 00:25:27
			When are you not obliged to obey your

00:25:27 --> 00:25:27
			parents?

00:25:28 --> 00:25:29
			And parents should know this and children.

00:25:30 --> 00:25:30
			Number one.

00:25:31 --> 00:25:32
			This is unanimous agreement among the scholars.

00:25:32 --> 00:25:33
			Number one.

00:25:35 --> 00:25:37
			When they tell you to do something that

00:25:37 --> 00:25:37
			is a sin.

00:25:38 --> 00:25:44
			They tell you to, for example you know,

00:25:44 --> 00:25:48
			let's say you're driving and they say, actually

00:25:48 --> 00:25:49
			that's harm.

00:25:49 --> 00:25:49
			A sin.

00:25:50 --> 00:25:52
			They say to you, for example, you're not

00:25:52 --> 00:25:53
			allowed to wear the hijab.

00:25:53 --> 00:25:54
			Don't wear the hijab.

00:25:55 --> 00:25:56
			You don't obey them in that.

00:25:56 --> 00:25:57
			They tell you don't pray.

00:25:57 --> 00:25:58
			You don't obey them in that.

00:25:58 --> 00:26:01
			They tell you, for example, you know that

00:26:01 --> 00:26:02
			cousin of yours, we don't talk to them.

00:26:03 --> 00:26:04
			Because we don't talk to them, you're not

00:26:04 --> 00:26:05
			allowed to talk to them.

00:26:06 --> 00:26:08
			No, you don't have to obey them in

00:26:08 --> 00:26:08
			that.

00:26:09 --> 00:26:12
			But you remain being dutiful and respectful to

00:26:12 --> 00:26:16
			your parents but you still don't obey them.

00:26:16 --> 00:26:16
			Can you do that?

00:26:17 --> 00:26:22
			Can you disobey your parents while still being

00:26:22 --> 00:26:22
			respectful to them?

00:26:23 --> 00:26:24
			Yes, you can.

00:26:25 --> 00:26:25
			Yes, you can.

00:26:28 --> 00:26:30
			I know a brother, he takes it like

00:26:30 --> 00:26:31
			a sportsmanship style.

00:26:31 --> 00:26:33
			What do I mean by sportsmanship style?

00:26:34 --> 00:26:36
			Whenever his mom or dad get upset, he

00:26:36 --> 00:26:37
			gets up he hugs them, he smiles, he

00:26:37 --> 00:26:38
			goes, Walla, I love you so much.

00:26:39 --> 00:26:40
			I'm not going to listen to that but

00:26:40 --> 00:26:41
			I love you mom and dad.

00:26:41 --> 00:26:42
			And you know what, I'm going to do

00:26:42 --> 00:26:42
			this.

00:26:42 --> 00:26:45
			The way he approaches his parents, always with

00:26:45 --> 00:26:48
			a smile, with this pampering, with his beautiful

00:26:48 --> 00:26:51
			words, and if they do get really upset,

00:26:51 --> 00:26:52
			he does sit down and he says, look

00:26:52 --> 00:26:53
			I know you're upset mom and dad, but

00:26:53 --> 00:26:55
			Walla, I love you so much, I can't

00:26:55 --> 00:26:56
			obey you this way because Allah told me

00:26:56 --> 00:26:57
			I have to see my cousin.

00:26:57 --> 00:27:00
			But, but, but, but, then he comes back,

00:27:00 --> 00:27:02
			gets him gifts, and he just does not

00:27:02 --> 00:27:04
			let them, they can't get upset with him.

00:27:06 --> 00:27:08
			There's a way to approach, and if you

00:27:08 --> 00:27:09
			can master that, Wallahi, it works, Inshallah.

00:27:10 --> 00:27:13
			Number two, you don't have to obey your

00:27:13 --> 00:27:17
			parents if what they're asking you to do

00:27:17 --> 00:27:23
			has no benefit to themselves at all.

00:27:23 --> 00:27:26
			So there's no personal benefit to them personally.

00:27:27 --> 00:27:29
			They're just telling you either out of their

00:27:29 --> 00:27:32
			own whims or their desires, or sometimes it

00:27:32 --> 00:27:33
			can become control.

00:27:33 --> 00:27:35
			Or just because they want to give you

00:27:35 --> 00:27:36
			their opinion.

00:27:37 --> 00:27:38
			So it could be in a good way

00:27:38 --> 00:27:38
			as well.

00:27:39 --> 00:27:44
			Son, daughter, for example, don't do, don't go

00:27:44 --> 00:27:45
			into that course.

00:27:45 --> 00:27:46
			I don't want you to do an engineering

00:27:46 --> 00:27:48
			course, you've got to do a medicine course.

00:27:48 --> 00:27:52
			You're not allowed to do a trades skill,

00:27:53 --> 00:27:54
			you have to go and do, for example,

00:27:54 --> 00:27:55
			accounting, right?

00:27:55 --> 00:27:57
			Or they come up to you and say,

00:27:57 --> 00:27:59
			okay, well, you're not allowed to marry this

00:27:59 --> 00:28:01
			person, you must marry that person.

00:28:01 --> 00:28:03
			Over my dead body, it has to be

00:28:03 --> 00:28:05
			that person, both for daughters and sons.

00:28:05 --> 00:28:07
			You are not obliged to obey your parents

00:28:07 --> 00:28:10
			in doing the things which they are telling

00:28:10 --> 00:28:13
			you to do, which they personally don't have

00:28:13 --> 00:28:15
			a benefit to it, and it involves only

00:28:15 --> 00:28:15
			you.

00:28:16 --> 00:28:18
			Now with marrying someone, or doing something else,

00:28:19 --> 00:28:21
			if there is harm that will come upon

00:28:21 --> 00:28:24
			your family or your parents, then you should

00:28:24 --> 00:28:25
			listen to them.

00:28:25 --> 00:28:27
			For example, if you're going to marry someone

00:28:27 --> 00:28:29
			who's going to cause harm to your parents,

00:28:29 --> 00:28:32
			such as in certain cultures overseas, maybe not

00:28:32 --> 00:28:35
			as much here, but certain cultures overseas, marrying

00:28:35 --> 00:28:40
			a certain person will bring a, what can

00:28:40 --> 00:28:44
			I say, a disgust or shame on the

00:28:44 --> 00:28:44
			parents.

00:28:45 --> 00:28:47
			For example, somebody's done terrible things and you

00:28:47 --> 00:28:49
			want to marry that person and your parents

00:28:49 --> 00:28:51
			are going to be affected, your family's going

00:28:51 --> 00:28:52
			to be affected, then they have a right

00:28:52 --> 00:28:54
			to tell you, don't marry them because of

00:28:54 --> 00:28:55
			this.

00:28:55 --> 00:28:57
			But other than that, they're not allowed to

00:28:57 --> 00:29:00
			force you to marry someone whom you do

00:29:00 --> 00:29:01
			not want to marry.

00:29:02 --> 00:29:03
			This is haram and it's a major sin

00:29:03 --> 00:29:04
			to force them to do that.

00:29:05 --> 00:29:07
			Number three, you don't have to obey your

00:29:07 --> 00:29:10
			parents if it's going to harm you, if

00:29:10 --> 00:29:11
			it's going to be dangerous or harmful to

00:29:11 --> 00:29:12
			you.

00:29:12 --> 00:29:14
			For example, you're driving and your father's with

00:29:14 --> 00:29:16
			you and then he says to you, just

00:29:16 --> 00:29:17
			cross the red light.

00:29:18 --> 00:29:20
			Drive at 140 k's, for example.

00:29:21 --> 00:29:22
			And you know this is dangerous or you're

00:29:22 --> 00:29:23
			probably going to get a ticket, you're probably

00:29:23 --> 00:29:25
			going to get the police after you, for

00:29:25 --> 00:29:25
			example.

00:29:25 --> 00:29:29
			Or they tell you, for example, to something

00:29:29 --> 00:29:30
			that's going to harm you, your money.

00:29:31 --> 00:29:34
			They say to you you must take out

00:29:34 --> 00:29:36
			of your money and give it to your

00:29:36 --> 00:29:38
			siblings or to your cousin and so on.

00:29:38 --> 00:29:40
			And as a result, you're going to be

00:29:40 --> 00:29:42
			in hardship, financial hardship.

00:29:42 --> 00:29:43
			You're not going to be able to pay

00:29:43 --> 00:29:44
			bills, for example.

00:29:44 --> 00:29:45
			You're not going to be able to pay

00:29:45 --> 00:29:45
			for your courses.

00:29:46 --> 00:29:48
			If you're going to be harmed financially, you

00:29:48 --> 00:29:49
			don't have to obey your parents in doing

00:29:49 --> 00:29:49
			that.

00:29:51 --> 00:29:54
			Another way that it's harmful is when a

00:29:54 --> 00:29:58
			parent asks their married son or daughter to

00:29:58 --> 00:30:01
			go and sort of oblige the spouse, for

00:30:01 --> 00:30:05
			example, obliges the son's wife to spend on

00:30:05 --> 00:30:06
			her in-laws.

00:30:07 --> 00:30:08
			That's going to be, that's not right.

00:30:08 --> 00:30:10
			That's taking away the rights of other people.

00:30:11 --> 00:30:13
			Or they oblige the daughter that if you

00:30:13 --> 00:30:15
			marry this person, this person has to also

00:30:15 --> 00:30:17
			spend on your parents.

00:30:17 --> 00:30:20
			These are examples where in Islam it is

00:30:20 --> 00:30:22
			actually forbidden even from the parents to do

00:30:22 --> 00:30:26
			so because this is taking away the rights

00:30:26 --> 00:30:28
			of other people whom Allah subhanahu wa ta

00:30:28 --> 00:30:28
			'ala had given.

00:30:29 --> 00:30:31
			Which brings me to the topic of money

00:30:31 --> 00:30:32
			and property.

00:30:34 --> 00:30:37
			Someone asked me the question, must you spend

00:30:37 --> 00:30:38
			on your parents?

00:30:39 --> 00:30:41
			The answer to that is number one.

00:30:42 --> 00:30:45
			If they are in financial need and their

00:30:45 --> 00:30:48
			money is not enough for their basic livelihood,

00:30:49 --> 00:30:52
			then yes, you must spend on them enough

00:30:52 --> 00:30:53
			for their livelihood.

00:30:53 --> 00:30:57
			But this is only upon the son, the

00:30:57 --> 00:30:59
			boys, not the girls, not the daughters.

00:30:59 --> 00:31:02
			If the daughters do spend, it is out

00:31:02 --> 00:31:04
			of their own goodwill, it is considered a

00:31:04 --> 00:31:05
			sadaqah.

00:31:06 --> 00:31:09
			Number two, if the parents are not in

00:31:09 --> 00:31:14
			need of financial help, then no, you are

00:31:14 --> 00:31:15
			not obliged to spend on them.

00:31:16 --> 00:31:17
			For example, one father said to his son,

00:31:17 --> 00:31:20
			got his children and said, every month you

00:31:20 --> 00:31:21
			have to give me an allowance.

00:31:22 --> 00:31:24
			Even though the father had his own income,

00:31:24 --> 00:31:26
			he had his own properties, he's got money,

00:31:26 --> 00:31:27
			and then you get these children and says,

00:31:27 --> 00:31:28
			you've got to give me an allowance.

00:31:29 --> 00:31:33
			Islamically, it is not an obligation to do

00:31:33 --> 00:31:33
			so.

00:31:34 --> 00:31:37
			If you have enough, give your father, give

00:31:37 --> 00:31:38
			your mother out of goodness, out of love,

00:31:38 --> 00:31:41
			out of compassion, but to force them and

00:31:41 --> 00:31:43
			to make it a thing in Islam where

00:31:43 --> 00:31:45
			you are in sin if you don't do

00:31:45 --> 00:31:46
			that, that is not true.

00:31:46 --> 00:31:48
			But of course, brothers and sisters, we don't

00:31:48 --> 00:31:50
			do it out of harshness, we do it

00:31:50 --> 00:31:52
			out of love and no matter how much

00:31:52 --> 00:31:54
			you can help your parents, you help them.

00:31:54 --> 00:31:56
			But what I'm talking about is that parents

00:31:56 --> 00:31:58
			using these laws to make it like as

00:31:58 --> 00:32:00
			if we're right on their neck, you know,

00:32:00 --> 00:32:02
			as if it's like, it's as if I'm

00:32:02 --> 00:32:04
			putting my child in a position of proving

00:32:04 --> 00:32:05
			his loyalty to me.

00:32:06 --> 00:32:08
			Let me see your loyalty, will you give

00:32:08 --> 00:32:09
			me this much every month?

00:32:09 --> 00:32:09
			That's not right.

00:32:11 --> 00:32:16
			There is a hadith which some people have

00:32:16 --> 00:32:18
			mentioned to me, they say, didn't the Prophet,

00:32:18 --> 00:32:22
			peace be upon him, say, you and your

00:32:22 --> 00:32:24
			wealth is for your father?

00:32:25 --> 00:32:27
			There is a long hadith about that.

00:32:28 --> 00:32:30
			The hadith is authentic, however, this is where

00:32:30 --> 00:32:33
			fiqh, jurisprudence comes in, try to understand what

00:32:33 --> 00:32:35
			the Prophet, peace be upon him, is saying.

00:32:35 --> 00:32:37
			The meaning of this hadith is you and

00:32:37 --> 00:32:40
			your wealth is for your father, meaning this

00:32:40 --> 00:32:42
			was in relation to a man who said,

00:32:42 --> 00:32:44
			Ya Rasulullah, my father, he wants to take

00:32:44 --> 00:32:45
			my money, he wants to use it.

00:32:45 --> 00:32:48
			He said, you and your money is for

00:32:48 --> 00:32:51
			your father, meaning your father is allowed to

00:32:51 --> 00:32:53
			use your money if he is in need

00:32:53 --> 00:32:53
			of it.

00:32:54 --> 00:32:55
			Where did I get this?

00:32:55 --> 00:32:56
			From another hadith.

00:32:56 --> 00:32:59
			You see, Islam explains itself from different angles,

00:32:59 --> 00:33:00
			you can't just take one hadith and go

00:33:00 --> 00:33:00
			with it.

00:33:01 --> 00:33:02
			You've got to take other areas and other

00:33:02 --> 00:33:03
			ayat.

00:33:04 --> 00:33:06
			Aisha Radilana narrates another hadith, which is in

00:33:06 --> 00:33:09
			Ibn Habban, that the Prophet, peace be upon

00:33:09 --> 00:33:12
			him, said, if the parents are in need

00:33:12 --> 00:33:15
			of financial help, they are allowed to take

00:33:15 --> 00:33:16
			from their son's money.

00:33:17 --> 00:33:18
			And if they don't have a son, from

00:33:18 --> 00:33:19
			their daughter's money.

00:33:20 --> 00:33:21
			Their needs.

00:33:21 --> 00:33:23
			For example, a father needs to pay a

00:33:23 --> 00:33:23
			bill.

00:33:23 --> 00:33:24
			He doesn't have any money to pay the

00:33:24 --> 00:33:25
			bill for his electricity.

00:33:25 --> 00:33:26
			He needs food.

00:33:26 --> 00:33:27
			Your mother needs food.

00:33:27 --> 00:33:28
			They haven't got enough.

00:33:28 --> 00:33:29
			What do you do?

00:33:29 --> 00:33:31
			They're allowed to take from that money.

00:33:31 --> 00:33:33
			Otherwise, it's not literal.

00:33:33 --> 00:33:36
			Your parents don't literally own you and your

00:33:36 --> 00:33:36
			wealth.

00:33:36 --> 00:33:38
			Otherwise, they will inherit everything.

00:33:38 --> 00:33:41
			As soon as you die, we can say,

00:33:41 --> 00:33:42
			well, if your father's still alive, he'll take

00:33:42 --> 00:33:43
			all of your inheritance.

00:33:43 --> 00:33:44
			But that's not true.

00:33:44 --> 00:33:46
			Because in the Quran, inheritance has to be

00:33:46 --> 00:33:46
			divided.

00:33:47 --> 00:33:49
			The mother gets a share.

00:33:49 --> 00:33:50
			The wife gets a share.

00:33:50 --> 00:33:51
			The children get a share.

00:33:51 --> 00:33:52
			The grandparents get a share.

00:33:53 --> 00:33:56
			Had this hadith meant that our fathers own

00:33:56 --> 00:33:58
			us and our wealth, they will inherit everything.

00:33:58 --> 00:33:59
			But Allah did not make it that way.

00:34:00 --> 00:34:01
			And of course, this is what it means,

00:34:01 --> 00:34:02
			inshallah.

00:34:05 --> 00:34:06
			Can...

00:34:09 --> 00:34:11
			So, I finish with this and then conclude,

00:34:11 --> 00:34:12
			inshallah.

00:34:14 --> 00:34:18
			A father or a mother can request money

00:34:18 --> 00:34:21
			from their children and their children must give

00:34:21 --> 00:34:21
			them.

00:34:22 --> 00:34:25
			Otherwise, they are in major sin on four

00:34:25 --> 00:34:25
			conditions.

00:34:26 --> 00:34:28
			If these four conditions are met, then you're

00:34:28 --> 00:34:29
			obliged to help your parents.

00:34:29 --> 00:34:34
			Number one, if it's not going to cause

00:34:34 --> 00:34:38
			harm on the child, then that's the first

00:34:38 --> 00:34:39
			condition.

00:34:39 --> 00:34:41
			A parent can request money.

00:34:41 --> 00:34:44
			Number two, the son does not need it

00:34:44 --> 00:34:45
			for his livelihood.

00:34:46 --> 00:34:47
			So, for example, a father can't come along

00:34:47 --> 00:34:51
			and say, that car that you have to

00:34:51 --> 00:34:53
			go to work in, you can't drive it

00:34:53 --> 00:34:53
			anymore.

00:34:54 --> 00:34:55
			You can go take the bus, or you

00:34:55 --> 00:34:56
			can walk to work.

00:34:56 --> 00:34:57
			I'm going to keep driving it.

00:34:57 --> 00:34:58
			You're not allowed to do that.

00:34:58 --> 00:35:00
			So, if it's not going to cause, it's

00:35:00 --> 00:35:01
			not the livelihood of a child.

00:35:01 --> 00:35:04
			Number three, if they say to you, I

00:35:04 --> 00:35:05
			want your money to give it to your

00:35:05 --> 00:35:06
			siblings.

00:35:07 --> 00:35:07
			No.

00:35:07 --> 00:35:11
			This will cause enmity and hatred between the

00:35:11 --> 00:35:11
			siblings.

00:35:11 --> 00:35:13
			So, a parent cannot force the child to

00:35:13 --> 00:35:14
			say, give me your money to give it

00:35:14 --> 00:35:15
			to your siblings.

00:35:15 --> 00:35:17
			Unless one of your siblings is truly in

00:35:17 --> 00:35:18
			need, they've got a surgery, they've got a

00:35:18 --> 00:35:21
			heart problem, they haven't got enough money, then

00:35:21 --> 00:35:22
			they can come up to you and you

00:35:22 --> 00:35:24
			will, and if you have surplus wealth to

00:35:24 --> 00:35:26
			help your sibling, then you must obey your

00:35:26 --> 00:35:26
			parents.

00:35:26 --> 00:35:29
			Number four, the parent is in need of

00:35:29 --> 00:35:31
			it for his or her livelihood.

00:35:31 --> 00:35:33
			So, these are the four conditions where we

00:35:33 --> 00:35:35
			must obey our parents if these four conditions

00:35:35 --> 00:35:37
			are met, inshallah ta'ala.

00:35:38 --> 00:35:42
			Imam Malik said that one man came to

00:35:42 --> 00:35:43
			him and he was married and he said,

00:35:43 --> 00:35:46
			Ya Imam, my mother, she watches me.

00:35:46 --> 00:35:49
			Every time I have an income and every

00:35:49 --> 00:35:50
			time I get a gift, I have a

00:35:50 --> 00:35:52
			wife, I have children, she says to me,

00:35:53 --> 00:35:55
			you must go and give your sister a

00:35:55 --> 00:35:57
			share first, before you give your wife, before

00:35:57 --> 00:35:58
			you give your children, before you give anybody.

00:35:59 --> 00:36:01
			Every time she does this to me, Imam,

00:36:01 --> 00:36:02
			and I don't want to disobey my mother

00:36:02 --> 00:36:03
			and get the wrath of Allah.

00:36:03 --> 00:36:07
			Imam Malik said to him, be kind and

00:36:07 --> 00:36:10
			sensitive to your mother's feelings, at the same

00:36:10 --> 00:36:12
			time, you are not obliged to obey her.

00:36:13 --> 00:36:15
			Because the Prophet, peace be upon him, said

00:36:15 --> 00:36:17
			that your wife and your children are the

00:36:17 --> 00:36:21
			first in line of financial provision.

00:36:21 --> 00:36:21
			Why?

00:36:21 --> 00:36:23
			Because the wife has no one else but

00:36:23 --> 00:36:23
			her husband.

00:36:24 --> 00:36:25
			In Islam, the husband has to provide his

00:36:25 --> 00:36:26
			wife.

00:36:26 --> 00:36:28
			Number two, the children don't have anyone but

00:36:28 --> 00:36:28
			their mum and dad.

00:36:29 --> 00:36:31
			As for the parents, yes, they have the

00:36:31 --> 00:36:33
			son, but they may have other children, and

00:36:33 --> 00:36:34
			they also may have their spouse, and they

00:36:34 --> 00:36:36
			have other people in shallow can help them.

00:36:36 --> 00:36:38
			So, the children, it's a balance.

00:36:39 --> 00:36:41
			Everybody has their right, but at the same

00:36:41 --> 00:36:43
			time, brothers and sisters, let me tell you

00:36:43 --> 00:36:43
			something.

00:36:44 --> 00:36:45
			Let me tell you something, let me tell

00:36:45 --> 00:36:46
			you something.

00:36:47 --> 00:36:50
			Brothers and sisters, your parents, no matter what

00:36:50 --> 00:36:53
			happens, even if they are harsh, even if

00:36:53 --> 00:36:56
			they are, you know, the way they talk

00:36:56 --> 00:36:58
			to you or degrade you or anything like

00:36:58 --> 00:37:00
			that, I want you to remember this.

00:37:01 --> 00:37:04
			Number one, make dua for them.

00:37:04 --> 00:37:08
			Say, O Allah, in your prayer, guide them

00:37:08 --> 00:37:09
			and forgive them.

00:37:10 --> 00:37:12
			If Allah guides them and forgives them, you

00:37:12 --> 00:37:13
			will have a better life.

00:37:13 --> 00:37:15
			So, ask Allah to guide them the way

00:37:15 --> 00:37:16
			Ibrahim, peace be upon him, said, O Allah,

00:37:17 --> 00:37:17
			guide my father.

00:37:18 --> 00:37:23
			Number two, if parents, your children are going

00:37:23 --> 00:37:25
			astray, make dua for them.

00:37:25 --> 00:37:27
			For Nuh, peace be upon him, did not

00:37:27 --> 00:37:29
			give up on his son even when he

00:37:29 --> 00:37:31
			became a disbeliever.

00:37:31 --> 00:37:33
			He was on the ark and he kept

00:37:33 --> 00:37:34
			on telling him, come on board the ark,

00:37:34 --> 00:37:37
			my son, until the waves came and took

00:37:37 --> 00:37:37
			his son away.

00:37:38 --> 00:37:40
			Don't give up on your children no matter

00:37:40 --> 00:37:40
			what.

00:37:41 --> 00:37:44
			Number three, brothers and sisters, if you are

00:37:44 --> 00:37:47
			experiencing a very tough time with your parents

00:37:47 --> 00:37:50
			or with your children, number two, the idea

00:37:50 --> 00:37:54
			is try your best to stay calm in

00:37:54 --> 00:37:55
			the time of conflict.

00:37:55 --> 00:37:58
			Do some breathing exercises, walk away, get yourself

00:37:58 --> 00:38:00
			used to it, because if you argue back

00:38:00 --> 00:38:02
			and back and forth, it's not going to

00:38:02 --> 00:38:02
			work.

00:38:02 --> 00:38:04
			Number two, accept the situation.

00:38:05 --> 00:38:08
			Say to yourself, look, I can't change my

00:38:08 --> 00:38:08
			parents.

00:38:08 --> 00:38:10
			Or if your child is like that, at

00:38:10 --> 00:38:11
			the end you can say, I can't change

00:38:11 --> 00:38:12
			my child.

00:38:12 --> 00:38:14
			But work with what you can work with

00:38:14 --> 00:38:15
			them.

00:38:15 --> 00:38:17
			Avoid the harm, work with them in the

00:38:17 --> 00:38:18
			way that you connect.

00:38:18 --> 00:38:21
			Number three, don't retaliate, as I said to

00:38:21 --> 00:38:21
			you before.

00:38:21 --> 00:38:24
			Number four, look for your future as a

00:38:24 --> 00:38:24
			hope.

00:38:25 --> 00:38:26
			Alhamdulillah, you got your whole life ahead of

00:38:26 --> 00:38:26
			you.

00:38:26 --> 00:38:28
			And Allah SWT is going to, you know,

00:38:28 --> 00:38:29
			let you move on.

00:38:30 --> 00:38:32
			Number five, make dua, as I said.

00:38:32 --> 00:38:34
			Number six, talk to someone that you trust.

00:38:35 --> 00:38:36
			Don't just isolate yourself.

00:38:36 --> 00:38:39
			Some people, they say, I'm either, you know,

00:38:39 --> 00:38:40
			they talk about cutting off.

00:38:41 --> 00:38:44
			They say, I'm going to abandon my parents.

00:38:44 --> 00:38:45
			I'm going to abandon my children.

00:38:45 --> 00:38:47
			I'm going to abandon my relatives.

00:38:47 --> 00:38:48
			Habibi, you don't have to abandon everything.

00:38:49 --> 00:38:51
			Keep a little string of hair between you

00:38:51 --> 00:38:51
			and that person.

00:38:52 --> 00:38:54
			Don't cut them off completely because then you

00:38:54 --> 00:38:55
			never know what Allah SWT will change.

00:38:56 --> 00:38:59
			And number seven, look after yourself.

00:38:59 --> 00:39:02
			You know, distract yourself and make yourself busy

00:39:02 --> 00:39:04
			with your other hobbies, looking after your health.

00:39:04 --> 00:39:07
			Allah SWT always puts us through tests and

00:39:07 --> 00:39:09
			sometimes through hardships so that we may learn

00:39:09 --> 00:39:12
			from them or grow from them or because

00:39:12 --> 00:39:13
			Allah is going to direct us in the

00:39:13 --> 00:39:16
			right place or Allah SWT has a plan

00:39:16 --> 00:39:17
			for us.

00:39:17 --> 00:39:20
			My brothers and sisters, in this life, there

00:39:20 --> 00:39:23
			is no eternal rest and happiness.

00:39:23 --> 00:39:27
			Sometimes happiness, sometimes sadness, sometimes hard times, sometimes

00:39:27 --> 00:39:28
			easy times.

00:39:28 --> 00:39:29
			My brothers and sisters, this world is a

00:39:29 --> 00:39:31
			test and until we realize that it is

00:39:31 --> 00:39:33
			a test, then we're not going to be

00:39:33 --> 00:39:35
			able to live a life with peace in

00:39:35 --> 00:39:36
			our hearts.

00:39:36 --> 00:39:38
			And I finish with this beautiful story of

00:39:38 --> 00:39:39
			an imam who I used to follow when

00:39:39 --> 00:39:40
			I was a child.

00:39:40 --> 00:39:42
			He passed away.

00:39:43 --> 00:39:44
			I'll say his name.

00:39:44 --> 00:39:45
			You won't know his name.

00:39:46 --> 00:39:48
			He's from Kuwait, which I grew up as

00:39:48 --> 00:39:50
			a child listening to him.

00:39:50 --> 00:39:52
			He had a father who was, I think

00:39:52 --> 00:39:54
			he described him as more of a communist.

00:39:55 --> 00:39:57
			And he didn't really believe in God except,

00:39:57 --> 00:39:59
			you know, very, I don't know, some weird

00:39:59 --> 00:39:59
			belief.

00:40:00 --> 00:40:01
			And his father became debilitated.

00:40:02 --> 00:40:05
			So he became so debilitated that he had

00:40:05 --> 00:40:06
			to stay in his bed and if he

00:40:06 --> 00:40:07
			has to go to the toilet, he has

00:40:07 --> 00:40:08
			to do it in his bed.

00:40:09 --> 00:40:12
			So this child, sheikh, he became religious and

00:40:12 --> 00:40:13
			became an imam.

00:40:14 --> 00:40:16
			And the father was extremely harsh to him.

00:40:16 --> 00:40:18
			He used to swear at him, degrade him,

00:40:19 --> 00:40:20
			talk badly about him.

00:40:20 --> 00:40:21
			He would swear at his religion.

00:40:22 --> 00:40:24
			He would swear at his, you know, every

00:40:24 --> 00:40:26
			time he read the Quran, he would put

00:40:26 --> 00:40:27
			him down in every way, shape or form.

00:40:27 --> 00:40:29
			He said, father, please don't say that.

00:40:29 --> 00:40:30
			But his father wouldn't listen.

00:40:30 --> 00:40:32
			So what did the sheikh do?

00:40:32 --> 00:40:34
			He said, I continued my journey that Allah

00:40:34 --> 00:40:35
			is pleased with me.

00:40:36 --> 00:40:37
			And I did my duty as a son

00:40:37 --> 00:40:38
			for my father.

00:40:38 --> 00:40:40
			And if I was harmed, I would just

00:40:40 --> 00:40:42
			avoid the harm as much as I can.

00:40:42 --> 00:40:44
			He said, I made a hole under his

00:40:44 --> 00:40:46
			bed and we used to have a bucket

00:40:46 --> 00:40:48
			in there where he used to, you know,

00:40:48 --> 00:40:51
			relieve himself because his bowels weren't working.

00:40:51 --> 00:40:52
			He didn't have control over them.

00:40:52 --> 00:40:54
			He said, one day, the bucket, I was

00:40:54 --> 00:40:57
			cleaning it and, you know, it was somewhere

00:40:57 --> 00:40:59
			and then my father was, needed to relieve

00:40:59 --> 00:40:59
			himself.

00:41:00 --> 00:41:01
			He said, so then I put my hands

00:41:01 --> 00:41:03
			under it, under him.

00:41:04 --> 00:41:06
			And everything inside him came into my hands.

00:41:07 --> 00:41:08
			And I didn't complain.

00:41:08 --> 00:41:10
			I took it and I washed my hands.

00:41:11 --> 00:41:13
			And my father, for the first time, looked

00:41:13 --> 00:41:15
			at me and he got teary.

00:41:16 --> 00:41:18
			He said, son, I've been degrading you, putting

00:41:18 --> 00:41:20
			you down all your life.

00:41:21 --> 00:41:22
			And you would do this?

00:41:23 --> 00:41:23
			Why?

00:41:24 --> 00:41:25
			Why would you do that?

00:41:26 --> 00:41:28
			And he said, it is Islam, my dad.

00:41:29 --> 00:41:31
			I only want to please Allah, dad.

00:41:31 --> 00:41:33
			I want to enter paradise, father.

00:41:34 --> 00:41:36
			And you are the way that Allah has

00:41:36 --> 00:41:38
			given me as a test through it.

00:41:38 --> 00:41:42
			Because of that, his father repented and he

00:41:42 --> 00:41:45
			died a believer, knowing what Islam teaches you.

00:41:47 --> 00:41:49
			Now, this is a story that is personal

00:41:49 --> 00:41:51
			to me, but I want to share it

00:41:51 --> 00:41:53
			with you to tell you brothers and sisters,

00:41:53 --> 00:41:57
			please don't give up because you're going through

00:41:57 --> 00:41:58
			certain hardships.

00:41:58 --> 00:42:00
			I gave you a few ways to deal

00:42:00 --> 00:42:04
			with it, inshallah, and there is always light

00:42:04 --> 00:42:05
			at the end of the tunnel.

00:42:06 --> 00:42:07
			Seek support, seek help.

00:42:08 --> 00:42:09
			If it's too much for you, you can

00:42:09 --> 00:42:12
			distance yourself, but don't go all the way

00:42:12 --> 00:42:15
			because wallahi, it's miserable when a person feels

00:42:15 --> 00:42:17
			that they're just alone in this world with

00:42:17 --> 00:42:19
			no relatives, no cousins, no family.

00:42:20 --> 00:42:22
			And may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala ease

00:42:22 --> 00:42:23
			the pain and struggles of any of you

00:42:23 --> 00:42:25
			here and around the world who is going

00:42:25 --> 00:42:27
			through any kind of problems like this in

00:42:27 --> 00:42:28
			the family because the family is the most

00:42:28 --> 00:42:32
			important element of our life and it is

00:42:32 --> 00:42:36
			the most important, it's the most hurtful place

00:42:36 --> 00:42:40
			for ourselves, so I ask Allah subhanahu wa

00:42:40 --> 00:42:42
			ta'ala to ease your struggles and ours

00:42:42 --> 00:42:44
			and to ease the struggles of our brothers

00:42:44 --> 00:42:45
			and sisters around the world.

00:42:46 --> 00:42:47
			May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala lift the

00:42:47 --> 00:42:49
			atrocities of our brothers and sisters in Gaza,

00:42:49 --> 00:42:51
			Palestine, and everywhere around the world.

00:42:51 --> 00:42:52
			May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala help our

00:42:52 --> 00:42:54
			brothers and sisters in the Myanmar who are

00:42:54 --> 00:42:58
			still going through persecution at the moment.

00:42:58 --> 00:43:00
			May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala assist and

00:43:00 --> 00:43:03
			support and raise the ranks and the peace

00:43:03 --> 00:43:05
			of our brothers and sisters of Syria.

00:43:05 --> 00:43:07
			May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless you

00:43:07 --> 00:43:07
			all.

00:43:07 --> 00:43:07
			Thank you.
